We got a photo lead for Bird Tales in Birds and Blooms for the October/November 2023 Issue Page 21. We shot this at the Wilson House in Monterey. We bought a pumpkin from Fair Lawn Farms while we were visiting there, and set some sunflower seeds on the pumpkins and staged some shots. We submitted the best one to Birds & Blooms Magazine. We shot more bird photos here and it also tells you more about our idea for this photo.
Funny story was the lady (Debbie) who cleans the Wilson House we vacation at in Monterey VA got sent a gift of a magazine from some friends in Ohio. She opens it up to read it and sees a photo we shot. The person from Ohio sent it to her because they know she is from Monterey, VA area and they don't see many bird photos from Virginia in the magazine and thought she would like it. Small world.
